Ce dessin a pour point de départ la polysémie du mot Psyché : Selon le contexte, il peut désigner un papillon, un courant d’air, l’âme, un miroir, ou les manifestations conscientes ou inconscientes de l’esprit humain. Il s’agissait de créer une mise en abime : je souhaitais peindre une représentation allégorique de l’inconscient, où les limites éprouvées du langage produisent de puissantes images.

The idea of the drawing began with the polysemy of the word Psyche : depending on the context, it can describe a butterfly, a draft, the soul, a Mirror, or the conscious or unconscious manifestations of the human mind. It was all about creating a mise en abyme. I wanted to paint an allegorical representation of the subconscious, in which the limits of language produce powerful images.
